Turtle. Turtle. TURTLE!
That’s what one Georgia motorist might have been saying after a turtle came flying through her windshield while she was on a highway near Savannah.
“Beware, Savannah, of flying turtle(s),” Latonya Lark wrote on a Facebook post, along with a photo of the Ninja Turtle in training, who unfortunately didn’t make it after being impaled by the windshield glass.
Lark was driving with her brother, Kevin Grant, on May 12, when she thought she saw a brick heading toward her, WSAV reported.
Seconds later, the turtle soared mostly through the windshield, just shy of her brother.
“When the glass broke, the first thing that came to my mind was just to shield myself,” Grant told WSAV.
Grant only suffered minor injuries, but the turtle lost a leg and later died from blood loss.
Police said they did not know how the turtle became airborne, but the woman involved suspects it was initially struck by a car in front of her.
